Is your event carbon free?
We can organize your conference, sporting or cultural event in environmentally responsible manner—we can make it carbon free!
Your event will produce certain amount of greenhouse gas emissions—through air, road, or rail travel of its participants, paper and food consumed, or the energy needed to heat or cool facilities and hotels. We will accurately calculate how many tons of carbon equivalent this will represent, and purchase equivalent amount of greenhouse gas allowances created by emission reduction projects elsewhere. These allowances will be “retired” and your event will be carbon-free? Certifiably. Help save the planet—emit less.
Why Organize a CO2 Neutral Event?
Climatologists and atmospheric scientists have reached near consensus that unless we want to irreparably damage our planet’s climate, emissions of man-made greenhouse gases must be reduced by 80% by the year 2050. But why wait till 2050? The sooner emissions are reduced the better. By making your event carbon neutral you will help save our climate. And, you will make your event more attractive for its participants and sponsors.
How to Do it?
Using our own proprietary program, we will calculate the emissions of all types of transportation carriers used by your event participants to get there and back. Did you know that one passenger flying round trip economy class between London and Prague is responsible for almost 500 kg of CO2? This is more carbon that the average inhabitant of Ghana emits in the whole year!
We will then determine direct or indirect emissions attributed to accommodations or local travel.
And finally, emissions attributed to the event itself will be determined, such as paper and toner consumption, energy for heating, cooling and computers, food catering, and other items, if appropriate.
As the organizer of the event your will be provided with a certificate of carbon-free event, attesting that the required volume of allowances have been purchased and retired. And you will be able to use our CO2 Free logo on any event materials.
